Most Malaria education aimed at a pediatric audience does not feature the kind of children that most often suffer from Malaria. It also doesn't take into account common misconceptions about the spread of Malaria.

This exhibit features children with names, clothing, and features that resemble those in the countries most effected by the Plasmodium parasite and the disease it causes.

Curriculum design and deck design for lactation skills courses, using my medical illustration and writing. These were developed with the consultation of a large team of lactation consultants, pediatricians, and breast specialists.

I also created a number of patent drawings to represent the invention of a high fidelity neonatal simulator, and I've included some of those below.

In all, we created a 3 hour class for healthcare professionals and trainees, 12 simulated encounters, and a separate class for new parents.

I'm often asked for examples of infographics, so here are a number of them in one place. As you can see I'm comfortable working with a variety of styles and for a wide audience.

Created with Pediatric Cardiologists working in Canada, this website aims to teach tweens and teens about syncope, or fainting. It includes video, print-outs, infographics, and more.

I created the written content, wrote and voiced the videos, did some of the animation, and created some of the illustrations.

C de la F Clinic asked for a slide deck to help guide a 90 minute conversation with new IVF clients. Their previous deck had graphic photos but very little to help with communication and empathy for this patient population.

I worked with wonderful colleagues Ali Gordaneer and Mariana Villalobos, but I've only included slides here with my illustrations. Workflow generally included Mariana speaking to the client, me writing the text, and Ali editing for clarity and consistency.

Many people who are going through perimenopause describe feeling angry, sweaty, and betrayed by their bodies. Yet most of the information out there for them doesn't match this tone. This project was completed as a part of my certification in Humanitarian Clowning. Medical Clowning is embraced in some parts of the world as a vital part of healing, but that's not the case in the USA. This series of posters and slides makes the case that Medical Clowning can be a useful tool and should be further explored.

More and more research shows that using comics in medicine helps people relate and better understand their conditions. Here are a few examples of comics I've created. Some stand alone and some are part of larger collections. Some are comedic, and some are quite serious.

While this project isn't strictly medical illustration, I thought it warranted inclusion. Its a great place to see my graphic design skills in addition to branding, indesign/illustrator/photoshop proficiency, and digital painting all at once.

Throughout this book you can see badges, posters, flyers, an event map, and other assets all created for one medically-themed event, as well as mock-ups, photo editing, logo creation, and indesign book formatting.

Because of my certification and experience with the Sexual Assault Medical and Forensics exam, I was asked to help create an OSCE case for medical students that would be flagged for a SAMFE examination. I cannot include the entire thing here but the school has allowed me to show the illustrations for my "findings card" and a few other pages. I wrote the case with the guidance of nursing faculty, and consulted on the grading checklist.

Note that the illustration is meant for two different skin tones, as different standardized patients were portraying the case.
